Members of the punk rock group in The Green Room get caught up in the commotion that follows since the venue is controlled by a small organized crime syndicate. They are locked in a room that partially opens into the basement. Is the room truly green? I am not sure, though, there were some light green textures here and there. But it is the movie that grabs your attention without trying to find the reasons the directors chose the title. The movie paces along extremely well. It is not too rushed or intentionally slow. The bald guys, the typical frontrunners who are trusted to handle situations when bodies have to be dumped, look genuinely bad. The action sequences featuring a dog have been created to perfection. Yes, there is some gore, but not the type that churns your last meal in your stomach. The movie does not run along to its ending, even though you realize it after having watched hundreds of thrillers where unsuspecting people are caught in a crime scene, or a crime-infested zone, or behind enemy lines.

It is about decent folks caught in a situation where they are surrounded by drug-trading gang members, but there are no shotguns blowing apart holes through the walls or high-speed car chases. There is a slightly rustic feel to the background music. The dialogues are never too loud, and nobody cares to discuss or swear when killing or trying to kill someone - it is all understood and accepted, and you too will feel the same when watching The Green Room!
